Dan Gainor is a veteran editor and writer known for media criticism. He works as a freelance editor for Fox News and also writes occasionally for Fox Opinion.He was formerly vice president of Free Speech America and Business for the Media Research Center which also produces NewsBusters.

Gainor is a former sci-fi/fantasy critic who is focusing now on his fiction career. He has published more than a dozen short stories, as well as a collection of his works called, “Our Heroes Through Tomorrow.” Those include the anthologies, “Shoot the Devil 3: Militia of Martyrs” and “Planetary Anthology Series: Pluto.” He has written two financial advice books, as well.

He has been published in numerous outlets including, Fox News, The Washington Times, New York Post and USA Today. Gainor has made more than 14,000 radio and 2,000 TV appearances critiquing the media. He has also testified in front of Congress about media issues on three occasions.

Gainor has extensive experience in publishing – holding the position of managing editor for Congressional Quarterly, and executive editor for ChangeWave, published by Phillips International. He has worked in financial publishing, launching new services for ChangeWave and Agora Inc.

Gainor holds an MBA from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business and a master’s in publications design from the University of Baltimore. As an undergraduate, he majored in political science and history at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Gainor lives in Georgia.
